Oscar 2025 nominations announced

The nominations for the 2025 Oscars have been announced, which fans have been eagerly waiting for as the announcement was postponed due to the devastating fire in Los Angeles.

According to foreign media, the Spanish thriller ‘Emilia Perez’ has topped all other films with 13 nominations, while the film ‘Wicked’ is second with 10 nominations.

Among the nominated films is the short film ‘Anuja’, shot in the Indian capital of Delhi, which has received immense acclaim. This Indian film is competing with famous Hollywood films ‘Alien’, ‘I’m not a Robot’, ‘The Last Ranger’ and ‘The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent’.

Anora, A Complete in Noon, Conclave, Devon: Part Two, I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys and ‘The Substance’ have been nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars 2025 Awards.

In the Best International Film category, ‘I’m Still Here’ (Brazil), ‘The Girl with the Needle’ (Denmark), ‘Emilia Perez’ (France), ‘The Seed of the Sacred Fig’ (Germany) and ‘Flo ‘ (Latvia) included.

In the running for best animated film are Flow, Inside Out Two, Memoir of a Snail, Wallace and Gourmet: Vengeance Most Foul and The Wild Robot. Black Box Diaries, No Other Land, Proseline War Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat and Sugar Cane are nominated for Best Documentary Film.

Carla Sofia has been nominated for the Best Actress Award for being a transgender actress.

She is the first transgender to be nominated for this category at the Oscars. Other candidates include Cynthia Arevo, Mikey Madison, Demi Moore and Fernanda Torres.
