Safaraz Ahmed appointed Champions Trophy Ambassador by ICC

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has appointed former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed as ambassador for the Champions Trophy.

Sarfraz Ahmed, the captain of the 2017 Champions Trophy-winning Pakistan team, has been appointed by the ICC for the 2025 Champions Trophy starting from February 19 in Pakistan.

The ICC has also appointed Shikhar Dhawan and Tim Southee as ambassadors for the Champions Trophy, while Australia’s Shane Watson has also been appointed as ambassadors for the event.

ICC Champions Trophy ambassadors will give their opinion on the matches during the event.

In this regard, Sarfaraz Ahmed said that he can never forget the moment of winning the Champions Trophy. After the victory of the Champions Trophy in 2017, the whole nation stood with us, the celebration of the Champions Trophy victory will always be close to my heart, he added.

Sarfaraz further said that Pakistan is happy to get the return of the Champions Trophy in the cricket calendar and hosting such a special event, this format means that every match is important in it. I am eager to play my role as an ambassador, he said.
