Israel’s military admits complete failure in Hamas’ October 7 attack

The Israeli military has acknowledged its complete failure in the October 7, 2023 attack on the occupied Palestinian territories by the Palestinian resistance organization Hamas.

According to the foreign news agency, the Israeli army released its investigation report on the October 7, 2023 attack of Hamas, admitting its failure to prevent this major attack on Israel.

The Israeli military released a summary of the report to reporters, saying that the army failed to protect Israeli civilians, the Israeli army’s Gaza division had retreated in the early hours of the war and Palestinian fighters had taken control of the area’s settlements and roads.

Briefing on the contents of the report, a senior military official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said, “October 7 was a complete failure of the army, the Israeli army failed to fulfill the mission of protecting its citizens.”

The report added that many civilians were killed that day, with the question circulating in their minds: Where is the Israeli army?

According to a senior military official, the Israeli military was overconfident due to the misconception that Hamas’s military capabilities were weak, as a result of which it was not ready for the attack.

The Israeli military’s investigation says that the Hamas attack took place in three phases, in the first phase, about 1,000 fighters of Hamas’s Nakhba force entered the Israeli border.

According to the Israeli military, 2,000 more fighters entered Israel in the second phase, while hundreds of fighters and thousands of civilians entered the Israeli border in the third phase.

The Israeli military said a total of about 5,000 people entered the Israeli border from Gaza during the attack.
