Pakistan team will earn millions despite early Champions Trophy exit

Hosts and defending champions Pakistan will receive about $140,000 in prize money despite an early exist from ICC Champions Trophy.
This is due to because the prize money was revealed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) before the start of the tournament.
According to ICC, the winners of the ICC Champions Trophy will bag around $ 2.24 million, while the runners up will receive $1.12 million.
Similarly, the semi-finalists will get $ 560,000.
Teams out of the group stage, including Pakistan, will be rewarded with $140,000.
Each group stage win will receive $34,000 for the winning team, while the fifth and sixth-placed teams of the tournament will receive $350,000.
It should be noted that the ICC will give 53 percent additional prize money to the teams as compared to the year 2017.
Pakistan, the host country of the tournament, haven’t won a single game in the tournament and finished at the bottom of the Group A table.
