New twist in Karachi Boat Basin case

In the case of a citizen’s assault at Boat Basin Food Street, both parties have reached a settlement, according to DIG South Ali Raza. Complainant Barkat Soomro has agreed to a reconciliation.

However, DIG South clarified that the settlement would not impact the legal proceedings, and the primary suspect, Shah Zain Marri, will be arrested if found in Karachi. The case challan will also be submitted to the relevant court.

The incident occurred on February 19 when Shah Zain Marri and his guards allegedly hit a citizen’s car with their jeep and then assaulted him at gunpoint.

The case was registered on February 21 following the circulation of CCTV footage. Police have arrested five suspects, while the main accused has reportedly fled to Balochistan.
