Pakistan launches Digital Prize Bonds - Buy & sell online Digital Prize Bond
The government is set to introduce digital prize bonds, allowing transactions through a mobile application and crediting funds directly to linked bank accounts or Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) accounts.
This initiative aims to enhance financial transparency while minimizing risks of theft, loss, and fraud.
According to an Express News report, the prize money will be taxable but exempt from Zakat. By eliminating paper-based bonds, the new system is expected to reduce printing and logistical expenses, making transactions more secure and efficient.
Initially, digital prize bonds will be available in Rs500, Rs1,000, Rs5,000, and Rs10,000 denominations. Additional denominations will be introduced as per government directives.
Pakistani citizens can purchase these bonds through the National Savings mobile app or other approved CDNS platforms, with payments processed via linked bank or savings accounts.
