Pakistani RICS March 2025 – Profit rate on Regular Income Certificates in Pakistan

KARACHI – The Central Directorate of National Savings (Qaumi Bachat) has once again reduced the profit rate on Regular Income Certificates (RICs), marking the third revision in less than three months. Officials attribute this adjustment to the declining inflation rate in Pakistan.
Overview of Pakistani RICS March 2025
Launched by the Pakistani government in 1993, Regular Income Certificates were introduced to provide a steady monthly income to investors. These certificates have a five-year maturity period and are available in the following denominations:
- Rs. 50,000
- Rs. 100,000
- Rs. 500,000
- Rs. 1,000,000
- Rs. 5,000,000
- Rs. 10,000,000
The Qaumi Bachat Bank distributes monthly profits on these certificates, with payments beginning from the date of issuance.
New Profit Rate for Regular Income Certificates
According to the latest revision, the profit rate on Regular Income Certificates has been set at 11.74%. As a result:
- Investors will now receive Rs. 979 per month for every Rs. 100,000 investment, compared to the previous Rs. 990 per month.
Zakat Exemption
Investments made in Regular Income Certificates remain exempt from Zakat deduction, offering an added benefit to investors.
