ICC names team of the tournament, no Pakistani included

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the Team of the Tournament for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, with five Indian players making the cut after their title-winning campaign.
No Pakistani cricketer was included in the squad, which is led by New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner.
According to the ICC, New Zealand has four representatives in the team, including Player of the Tournament Rachin Ravindra. Afghanistan, making its debut in the tournament, has two players in the lineup.
Ravindra, the tournament’s top run-scorer with 263 runs, is joined by Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran at the top order. India’s Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul fill the middle order, with Rahul also serving as the wicketkeeper. Glenn Phillips of New Zealand, who impressed with both bat and fielding, is included at number six.
Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai is the all-rounder in the squad, while Santner, the captain, took nine wickets, including key dismissals in the final. India’s Mohammed Shami, New Zealand’s Matt Henry, and India’s Varun Chakravarthy complete the bowling attack, with Axar Patel named as the 12th man.
The selection panel comprised former cricketers and commentators, along with an ICC official and a journalist.
