Police arrest guards who assaulted citizen on Lahore Canal road

Lahore Police have nabbed four guards of a private security company for attacking a citizen for not giving a way to their vehicles at the city’s Beijing Underpass. 

The police took action after videos of the incident had gone on social media, where users slammed misuse of power and called for a stern action.

The security guards, in the viral clips, deployed on three vehicles were seen dragging a commuter by hair and beating him with rifle for not giving way to their motorcade.

However, the victim showed courage and tried to stop them from fleeing the scene. During the scuffle, the private guards also assaulted him.

The victim said he was coming from Thokar Niaz Baig when the three black vehicles stopped him near Beijing Underpass and started assaulting him.

After the incident, DIG Operation Kamran Faisal taking notice ordered immediate arrest of the suspects.

Police have arrested four security guards for assaulting the citizen and registered a case against them.
