France asks for return of Statue of Liberty

French member of the European Parliament Raphael Glucksmann has said that France should withdraw the Statue of Freedom because the United States no longer represents the values that led to this gift.

Addressing the convention of his Place Public Center Left Movement, he said that give us back the statue of freedom. He said that the lack of liberalism, scientific research and justice is increasing in the United States, and researchers are being fired there.

Raphael Glucksmann said that the Statue of Independence was gifted to the United States by the French people in 1886, but now it seems that the US government has turned away from these values, so this statue will be safer in France.

He was particularly critical of the policies of Donald Trump, who has cut the budgets of research institutions and tried to fire environmental and health researchers.

The French leader added that if the United States wants to fire its best scientists and researchers, France will welcome them.
