Govt revises National Savings Schemes Rates

ISLAMABAD: The federal administration has once again recalibrated the yield percentages on National Savings Schemes (NSS) across multiple investment avenues, with the revised figures taking effect from March 20, 2025.

The most substantial surge was observed in the Serve Islamic Term Account (SITA), which ascended by 70 basis points (bps), shifting from 9.74 percent to an elevated 10.44 percent.

Similarly, the return rate for Short-Term Savings Certificates (STSC) experienced an increment of 15 bps, settling at 10.96 percent. Meanwhile, the Behbood Savings Certificate (BSC), Pensioner Benefit Account (PBA), and Shuhada Family Welfare Account (SFWA) each witnessed a moderate uptick of 10 bps, pushing their yields to 13.68 percent.

On the other hand, the Defense Savings Certificates (DSC) saw a minuscule elevation of just 1 bps, bringing the return to 12.15 percent.

Conversely, a conspicuous contraction was recorded in the Savings Account (SA), which suffered a sharp 100 bps decline, tumbling from 11.50 percent to 10.50 percent.
