Sindh Extends Deadline for New Ajrak Number Plates – Apply Now!

The Sindh government has officially extended the deadline for vehicle owners to switch to the new Ajrak Number Plates. The new last date to apply is May 3, 2025, giving people an extra month from the original deadline of April 3.

This extension was made due to delays caused by the Eidul Fitr holidays, which affected official announcements. While the official notification is still pending, government sources say it will be issued within the next two days.

Inspired by Sindhi traditional designs, modern security features have been incorporated into the new Ajrak number plates, which are now mandatory for all vehicles in the province, including motorcycles.

The project’s primary aim is to enhance tracking of vehicles while improving road safety and regulation of support against vehicle-related crimes.

As per the Sindh Excise Department, the province has about 7 million registered vehicles, all of which must switch to the new plate system. This is a top priority for the government and every effort is being made to ensure the smooth transition of this change.

Authorities have also issued a warning: after May 3, 2025, any vehicle without the Ajrak Number Plate will face strict action. This may include fines and even seizure of vehicles that don’t follow the new rules.

Vehicle owners are strongly advised to apply for their Ajrak Number Plates before the deadline to avoid any penalties and to make sure their vehicle records are up to date.
