When will summer holidays 2025 start in Punjab?

In Punjab, schools shut down every year for summer holidays to protect students and teachers from the extreme heat.

This break gives everyone a chance to rest, travel, and prepare for the next academic session. For 2025, the summer vacation will begin earlier than usual due to high temperatures.

The Punjab School Education Department confirmed that holidays for schools across the province will start on June 1, 2025. The break is expected to last until August 15, 2025, giving students over two months off from classes and exams.

Summer Holidays 2025 Start Date

Secretary of School Education, Khalid Nazir Wattoo, spoke to the media about this early decision. He explained that the rising heat has made it necessary to act quickly for the safety of students, teachers, and parents. He also mentioned that if temperatures rise further, the holidays could begin even earlier than June 1.

“Children cannot focus properly in hot weather. Their health is our top concern,” he said. The department is also keeping an eye on the weather. Right now, the heatwave has reduced, and some rain is expected. Because of this, the plan is to begin holidays on June 1 as scheduled.

During summer break, many students join camps to learn new skills such as drawing, sports, or basic computer use. Some prefer to stay home, enjoy family time, or prepare for the next school year. Summer vacation is not just a break but a chance to recharge both mentally and physically.

If the weather remains very hot in August, the government may extend the break further, but that decision will be made later.
