Trump lands in Saudi Arabia, marking fresh start in diplomatic ties
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed US President Donald Trump to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking the start of Trump’s official visit to the Middle East.
Trump received a warm reception at Riyadh Airport, kicking off his three-day diplomatic tour of the Gulf region. His visit highlights the US effort to rebuild strong ties with Arab countries and to work on key security and economic matters.
During a high-level meeting, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and President Trump, along with their top officials, discussed important issues like Iran’s nuclear program, the ongoing conflict in Gaza, oil prices, and regional security cooperation. Cabinet members from both sides were introduced and took part in the talks.
President Trump is also scheduled to attend the Gulf Summit in Riyadh. After his visit to Saudi Arabia, he will travel to the UAE and Qatar, where more talks are expected, especially focused on efforts to stop the war in Gaza and to work toward peace between Israel and Palestine.
Officials from both sides are hopeful that important agreements will be reached during this visit—especially in areas like defense cooperation, counter-terrorism efforts, and economic ties. An official dinner will also be held in Trump’s honor by the Crown Prince.
This visit comes at a time when the Middle East is facing serious challenges and changes. Many are watching closely to see what direction US policy may take, especially on Iran and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as it could signal new shifts in America’s stance in the region.
