Modi’s Irresponsible Statements Leave Indian Public Enraged

25 May, 2025 13:41

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent statement, “There is no hot blood in my veins, only sindoor (vermilion) flows,” has ignited widespread criticism and outrage among the Indian public, particularly women, who have condemned the remark as irresponsible and insensitive.

Indian women have voiced sharp disapproval, labeling Modi a “merchant of sindoor (vermilion),” a phrase that has since been echoed in public discourse as a critique of the Prime Minister’s leadership and priorities.

The general public has expressed deep frustration and disappointment, with many stating, “He who cannot uphold the honor of vermilion does not understand its value.” This sentiment reflects growing dissatisfaction with the government’s handling of security and social issues.

Citizens have also challenged the government’s recent military operations, saying, “You cannot hide the truth just by naming it ‘Operation Sindoor (vermilion)’.” The name, seen by many as a symbolic gesture, has failed to convince a public demanding concrete results.

The Pulwama attack and its aftermath remain a central concern. The public questions, “Why hasn’t the plight of the widows in Pulwama been addressed yet?” and “Why haven’t those who carried out terrorist attacks despite heavy military presence been caught yet?”

Further criticism targets Modi’s political decisions and priorities. Questions are being raised about the ceasefire declared reportedly on former U.S. President Donald Trump’s suggestion: “What kind of Prime Minister are you?” many ask.

Accusations of misdirection have also surfaced, with citizens accusing Modi of neglecting the victims of Pulwama, saying, “Why didn’t you visit Pulwama after the attack? Modi is misleading the public.”

Dissent extends to media coverage, with many pointing out, “Only the pro-government media is praising Modi; ask the real people to know the truth.”

Finally, frustration over Modi’s election campaigning instead of focusing on victims has been voiced strongly: “Instead of addressing the victims of Pulwama, Modi is running an election campaign in Bihar,” the public complains.

The backlash to Modi’s statement and the broader discontent underscore a deepening divide between the government’s narrative and public sentiment across India.
