Asim Munir–Trump Meeting Will Bring Positive Outcomes: Khawaja Asif

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has expressed optimism regarding the recent meeting between Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and US President Donald Trump, stating that the interaction is expected to yield positive results in the coming days.

Speaking to the media, Asif emphasized the significance of the meeting, describing it as an honor for Pakistan, especially in light of recent global tensions. He highlighted Pakistan’s potential role in contributing to peace in the Middle East and noted that the invitation extended to Field Marshal Munir reflects growing recognition of Pakistan’s strategic importance.

According to ISPR, the meeting was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, with both sides engaging in wide-ranging discussions on Pakistan-US relations.

Speaking to the media after meeting Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Trump called the meeting an honor and commended the Pakistani military leadership.

Discussions reportedly included regional security matters, including the Iran-Israel conflict. President Trump was quoted as saying that Pakistan might possess a deeper understanding of Iran’s position and expressed gratitude to Field Marshal Munir for his role in de-escalating tensions with India.

The meeting, which lasted approximately two hours, also touched on future economic cooperation. President Trump reportedly announced that the US plans to initiate trade with Pakistan and praised Field Marshal Munir for his commitment and dedication to the country.
