Veteran Actress Ayesha Khan Found Dead in Karachi Apartment – Cause of Death

Renowned Pakistani actress Ayesha Khan was found dead in her flat located in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi, in a tragic development that has shocked the entertainment community.

According to police reports, the body appeared to be about a week old. Ayesha Khan had been living alone in the apartment. The discovery was made after neighbours noticed a foul smell emanating from her residence and alerted her family. Upon being informed, police arrived at the scene and transferred the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

Subsequently, her remains were shifted to the Edhi Foundation’s mortuary in Sohrab Goth. Police confirmed that a post-mortem examination will be carried out at the request of her family.

Details regarding the time and location of her funeral prayers will be announced later.

Born in 1948, Ayesha Khan was the elder sister of actress Khalida Riasat. She earned acclaim for her roles in iconic Pakistan Television dramas such as Afshan, Uroosa, Aanch, Bandhan, and Shaam Se Pehle.

One of her most notable performances was in Afshan, where she portrayed a grieving woman raising her own child and her niece while waiting for the return of her husband, who had fled the country during the Partition.

President of the Arts Council of Pakistan, Ahmed Shah, expressed his sorrow at her passing, noting that Ayesha Khan’s career spanned over five decades and that her death marks a significant loss for the country’s drama industry.
