BISP Taleemi Wazaif rejects fake news about 6-day absence rule

30 June, 2025 18:08

A false message is going viral on social media about the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif Program, and it’s confusing many parents and students.

Some posts are claiming that if a child takes more than 6 days off from school, their stipend will be stopped. But this is not true.

According to the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), this viral message is fake and misleading.

What is the truth?

BISP has clearly explained that:

  • Children in the Taleemi Wazaif Program must maintain at least 70% attendance every three months (quarterly).

  • There is no rule that says a child will be removed or their payment will stop after just 6 absences.

  • The fake message is false and meant to create confusion among families.

What is the real rule?

BISP checks school attendance every 3 months. To keep receiving the stipend, a child must be present for at least 70% of total school days in that period.

Example:

  • If there are 60 school days in 3 months, the child needs to attend at least 42 days.

  • This means a child can still be absent for up to 18 days and still get the stipend.

Final Word

There is no 6-day absence rule. Don’t believe or share such fake news. For correct information, always follow official updates from BISP.
