Trump's Big Beautiful Bill Approved by Congress in Major Win
Washington: The US House of Representatives has approved President Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.”
According to foreign news agencies, Trump’s bill related to taxes and expenditures was passed by the US House of Representatives.
The bill received 218 votes in favor and 214 against. It will now be sent to President Trump for his signature.
According to the White House, President Donald Trump will sign the bill on Friday at 5 PM. Prior to this, the bill had also passed the US Senate by a narrow margin of just one vote.
After the bill’s approval, Trump congratulated Congress, saying that the bill will accelerate economic growth.
With the approval of this bill, many of Trump’s key domestic policies will gain the force of law, although it will also increase the national debt by an additional $3.3 trillion.
The new legislation saves money by cutting food help, health care, and tax breaks for clean energy projects.
It also makes two of Trump’s promises come true: keeping his 2017 tax cuts forever and raising taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security. This will cost $4.5 trillion over 10 years.
About $150 billion (£110 billion) will go to border security, detention centers, and immigration officers. Another $150 billion will be spent on the military, including a new missile defense plan.
Democrats, who tried to delay the vote, strongly criticized the bill, emphasizing that it takes away health care and food help from millions of people but gives tax breaks to the rich.
