In this regard, a ceremony was held at the Chief Minister’s House Peshawar, in which Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur distributed interest-free loan checks to successful applicants.

The KP government has allocated Rs4 billion for providing interest-free loans under the Ehsaas Apna Ghar scheme and to maintain transparency, loans are being provided to successful applicants after a computerized draw of applicants.

Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur said that the Ehsaas Apna Ghar scheme is the flagship and pro-poor project of the provincial government and is part of the vision of PTI founder Imran Khan to provide shelter to the low-income earners.

He said that they are also starting a project to provide solar systems to deserving families soon. 100 percent transparency and merit have been ensured in Ehsaas Apna Ghar and Solar Scheme. I am grateful to the people that they have also not resorted to any political recommendation in this regard.

Under this scheme, individuals between the ages of 18 and 65 with a monthly income of less than Rs 1.5 lakh will be eligible to take out loans. Applicants will be given interest-free loans of up to Rs 1.5 lakh, which will have to be repaid in easy installments over a period of seven years.

One hundred and twenty-three thousand applications were received for the first phase. 18,555 applications met the requirements.
