Elon Musk in Trouble as France Probes Platform X

Elon Musk, owner of the social media platform X, has found himself in even more trouble. French prosecutors have launched a police investigation into the platform over allegations of data tampering and fraud.

The announcement made by the prosecutor’s office on Friday said that a branch of the French gender division was investigating the matter.

This investigation is being conducted on two specific charges, one of which is the systematic manipulation of data through the use of an automated data processing system, and the other is the systematic criminal extraction of data from an automated data processing system.

The investigation is based on information provided to the prosecutor’s cybercrimes unit in January by two individuals, one a member of parliament and the other a senior official in a French government agency, whose identities have not been disclosed.

These individuals were accused of using X’s suspicious algorithm for external interference purposes.
