All 145 KP Assembly Members Vote in Senate Elections

Voting for the Senate elections in the KP Assembly has been completed, with all members casting their votes.145 members have exercised their right to vote for the Senate elections in KP, and Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur also cast his vote.

One hundred and forty-five members cast their votes for eleven Senate seats, and the Jirga Hall of the KP Assembly was turned into an election room.Murad Saeed, Faisal Javed, Mirza Afridi and Pir Noorul Haq Qadri are PTI candidates for the general seats, while Rubina Naz is the candidate for the women’s seat and Azam Swati is the candidate for the technocrat seat.

On the general seats, PML-N’s Niaz Ahmed, PPP’s Talha Mahmood are the opposition candidates, while JUI-F’s Ata-ul-Haq is also the opposition candidate.

Rubina Khalid of the PPP is the opposition candidate for the women’s seat, while Dilawar Khan of the JUI is the candidate for the technocrat seat.

The number of government members in the KP Assembly is ninety-two, while the opposition has 53. Twelve independent candidates are also in the fray for the general, technocrat, and women’s seats, while nineteen votes are required to elect a senator on the general seat.

To avoid horse trading during the Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the government and the opposition have decided on a formula of six and five seats. According to the formula, the government will get six seats while the opposition will get five seats.
