Pakistan Hits Back at India’s Accusations, Slams India’s Actions at UN Security Council

23 July, 2025 16:22

During an open debate at the United Nations Security Council, Pakistan’s Ambassador, Usman Jadoon, issued a firm rebuttal to India’s allegations. He criticized India for misusing the UN platform to level baseless charges and mislead the international community.

Ambassador Jadoon rejected India’s statements as false and deceptive. He reiterated that India continues its illegal occupation of the disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

He reminded the Council that India had itself brought the Kashmir issue to the UN, but now refuses to comply with the Security Council’s resolutions on the matter. Jadoon emphasized that the people of Kashmir are still being denied their internationally recognized right to self-determination.

He further accused India of consistently violating United Nations resolutions and international law. Jadoon also alleged that India is actively supporting and sponsoring terrorism within Pakistan. Citing several reports by global human rights organizations, he pointed to India’s mistreatment of religious and ethnic minorities.

The ambassador also criticized India for attempting to unilaterally suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, claiming this move aims to deprive Pakistan of its lawful share of river water — a serious breach of international agreements.

Additionally, Jadoon referred to a period of military confrontation between May 7 and 10 earlier this year. He said India engaged in open hostilities against Pakistan, prompting Pakistan to act in self-defense. According to him, Pakistan downed six Indian fighter jets and caused other significant military damage.

Ambassador Jadoon concluded his remarks by calling on India to abandon its arrogance and aggressive posture.
