Will Punjab schools open on August 15? [Full schedule here]

Summer vacations 2025 for schools in Punjab are coming to an end, with all public and private schools expected to reopen on August 15 (Friday). Students and parents are waiting to see if the holidays will be extended, but so far, no official announcement has been made.

According to the government notification issued in May, schools will reopen as planned. While low attendance is expected on the first day, full academic activities are likely to start from Monday, August 18, after the weekend.

The Punjab government has said that any decision about extending the holidays will be made after reviewing the weather conditions.

School Timings in Punjab (After Reopening)

The government has also shared updated school timings for public schools:

For Single Shift Schools:

• Monday to Thursday: 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

• Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

For Double Shift Schools:

• Morning Shift:

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

  • Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

• Evening Shift:

  • Monday to Thursday: 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • Friday: 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
