Tayyaba & Sumbul Fatima Win 5 Gold Medals at International Taekwondo Championship

Pakistani athletes delivered an outstanding performance at the 7th Hero International Taekwondo Championship in Malaysia, winning a total of six gold medals. The competition took place at the N9 Arena in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, from August 7 to 10, 2025, and featured over 1,000 participants from 18 countries.

Tayyaba Ashraf emerged as a star performer, dominating the 49 kg category and clinching three gold medals through her exceptional skills. Sumbul Fatima followed with two gold medals and one silver, raising Pakistan’s flag high on the international stage. She secured gold in Individual Freestyle Poomsae and Pair Poomsae, along with a silver in the Virtual Fight event.

Adding to Pakistan’s triumph, 13-year-old Syed Muhammad Hadi won gold in the 45 kg featherweight category, marking a remarkable achievement for the young athlete.

This strong performance highlights Pakistan’s growing presence in the global taekwondo arena and showcases the dedication and talent of its athletes.
