Field Marshal reiterates support for Kashmir, Palestine in Independence Day message

ISLAMABAD, August 14, 2025: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir congratulated the nation on Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, calling for unity, strong national security, and full protection of sovereignty.
In his message, the army chief said the trust of the people is the military’s greatest strength. He assured the public that the Pakistan Army will always stand as a strong guardian of the country’s integrity.
“We will never compromise on our freedom,” he said. “Any harm to Pakistan’s sovereignty will be met with an immediate and firm response.”
Field Marshal Munir paid respect to the founding generation and the martyrs of independence. He also praised the nation’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, noting the heavy cost Pakistan has paid in lives and resources to ensure peace.
He described Pakistan as a fortress of the Islamic world that promotes interfaith harmony and religious freedom. He thanked minority communities for their role in the country’s progress.
The army chief condemned the Pahalgam incident in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He demanded an international investigation and accused India of a “deliberate attack” on Pakistan’s civilians during the recent escalation.
“The courage of our people is a symbol of resilience and unbreakable spirit,” he said.
Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for Kashmiris in their struggle for self-determination, calling it the only fair and lasting solution to the dispute.
He also voiced strong support for the Palestinian cause, urging the global community to take urgent steps to protect Palestinian rights.
He said Pakistan stands for peaceful coexistence in South Asia, economic cooperation, and development.
