Ducky Bhai’s Remand Extended in Gambling Apps Case

YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, widely recognized as Ducky Bhai, will stay in the custody of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) until September 3, following the extension of his physical remand by a Lahore court in the ongoing gambling apps case.

On Monday, Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Naeem Wattoo granted the extension after Rehman’s four-day remand, which began on August 28, came to an end. He was earlier arrested on August 17 at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport while attempting to leave the country.

The case, filed by the state through NCCIA Lahore, accuses the YouTuber of promoting illegal gambling applications via his channel. Charges have been framed under multiple sections of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016 — including 13 (Electronic Forgery), 14 (Electronic Fraud), 25 (Spamming), and 26 (Spoofing) — along with sections 294 B and 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

According to the FIR, the inquiry began on June 13 after reports that influencers were advertising betting apps for financial gains, causing the public to suffer heavy losses. The report specifically names Rehman for promoting platforms such as 1xBet, Bet365, B9 Game, and Binomo, alleging he even served as Binomo’s country manager.

During the hearing, the investigation officer requested additional time, citing forensic evidence from seized devices, including chats related to gambling apps and records of foreign transactions. However, Rehman’s lawyer, Advocate Chaudhry Usman Ali, objected, insisting that banking details could be obtained without further custody and that no solid proof had been provided linking his client to the apps’ fraudulent operations.

The court, while granting a two-day remand extension, ordered the NCCIA to conclude its probe and present the accused again on September 3.
