Benazir Nashonuma Program 2025: Eligibility, Benefits and Registration
The government has expanded the Nashonuma (Growth/Nurturing) Programme under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), aiming to tackle the rising crisis of child malnutrition in Pakistan.
Organized by the World Food Programme (WFP) in collaboration with BISP, UNICEF, and WHO, the initiative is designed to prevent stunting in children under two, improve maternal nutrition, and address anaemia and micronutrient deficiencies.
Pakistan currently faces one of the highest malnutrition burdens in the region, with 40.2% stunted, 28.9% underweight, and 17.7% wasting rates among children.
Eligibility and Registration
To qualify, women must already be registered under the BISP Kafalat Programme and should either be pregnant or breastfeeding with a child under two years. Registration is carried out at Nashonuma Centres located in Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) or District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospitals. Applicants must provide the woman’s CNIC, child’s B-Form, and vaccination card.
Cash Assistance and Benefits
Each boy under two years and every pregnant or lactating woman (PLW) will receive Rs2,500 every three months, while girls under two years will be provided Rs3,000, which includes Rs500 for transportation.
In return, beneficiaries are required to consume Specialized Nutritious Food (SNF), ensure children’s regular health checkups and vaccinations, and attend maternal health awareness sessions. This financial support is provided in addition to the BISP Kafalat payments.
Officials said the program reflects a “long-term investment in Pakistan’s health and future generations.”
