Qatar’s PM warns of regional danger in first presser

10 September, 2025 11:02

Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has strongly condemned Israel’s recent attack in Doha, calling it “state terrorism.” He said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is acting like a rogue leader and pushing the whole region into chaos at a level that cannot be reversed.

Speaking after his meeting with the Lebanese president in Baabda, Lebanon, Sheikh Mohammed said the timing of the attack was very deliberate.

He explained that it happened exactly when Hamas’s negotiating team was meeting to discuss a US proposal for ending the Gaza war and reaching a ceasefire. He accused Israel of deliberately sabotaging those talks.

When asked if there was still space for diplomacy after the strike, the prime minister replied that chances for dialogue are now very limited.

Commenting on the US role, Sheikh Mohammed said American officials reached out to Qatar just 10 minutes after the attack. However, he added that Qatar could not prevent the strike because the Israeli drones were undetectable by radar.
