FBI Releases Video and Photos of ‘Person of Interest’ in Charlie Kirk Shooter Manhunt After Rifle Recovered

Law enforcement has recovered a rifle believed to have been used in the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The FBI confirmed that the suspect remains at large, though investigators have tracked parts of his movements.

On Thursday, the FBI released multiple photos and video footage of a “person of interest,” appealing to the public for assistance in identifying him. “We are asking for the public’s help identifying this person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University,” the agency’s Salt Lake City field office posted on X.

Authorities are offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s identification and arrest. The released images show a man wearing a black pullover with an American flag design, blue jeans, a cap, and carrying a large black backpack.

The FBI also shared video footage showing the suspect jumping from a university rooftop. “Around 12 p.m. Mountain Time on September 10, 2025, the subject climbed up to a rooftop; after he shot and killed Charlie Kirk, he jumped off and ran away,” the agency stated.

Officials said the gunman left behind a high-powered bolt-action rifle, ammunition, and physical traces including shoe impressions, a palm print, and a forearm imprint. Utah Commissioner of Public Safety Beau Mason noted the suspect appeared “to be of college age” and blended into the campus crowd before firing a single shot.

Kirk, 31, was struck in the neck and later pronounced dead at a hospital. President Donald Trump mourned his ally and announced he would posthumously award Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom, calling him “a giant of his generation, a champion of liberty, and an inspiration to millions.”

The investigation remains ongoing, with officials urging patience and caution as the manhunt intensifies.
