Punjab Minister Visits Flood-Hit Saitpur, Promises Relief
SAITPUR — Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb visited the flood-affected areas of Saitpur on Saturday, arriving by boat to inspect the damage and oversee relief efforts. The visit was made under the special directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
After a full day in the area, Aurangzeb returned to Alipur, another badly hit town. “The area is completely underwater. There’s been major destruction,” she said.
Speaking to victims in relief camps, Aurangzeb assured them of continued support. “Your sister, daughter, and mother Maryam Nawaz has sent me to stand with you,” she told survivors. “God willing, she will make sure your losses are compensated.”
Relief teams are delivering tents, dry food, and other essentials to even the hardest-to-reach parts of Saitpur. Damage assessments are already underway.
Flood victims thanked the government for its quick response. “Last time, Nawaz Sharif came himself. Now his daughter has sent help again,” one local resident said.
Aurangzeb said her visit was on behalf of Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, and Maryam Nawaz, promising that the government will continue to support affected communities.
