Asia Cup 2025: Pakistan Opts to Bat First Against India in High-Voltage Clash

Dubai: In the sixth match of the Asia Cup T20 2025, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first against arch-rivals India. The highly anticipated Group A encounter is being played at the Dubai International Stadium.

Pakistan fielded the same XI that secured a dominant 93-run victory over Oman earlier in the tournament. This is the second meeting between Pakistan and India in the last six months; their previous clash came during the Champions Trophy.

Both teams enter the contest in strong form. India recently defeated the UAE by nine wickets in the Asia Cup, while Pakistan claimed victories against Afghanistan and the UAE to win a tri-nation series.

Historically, India has had the upper hand, winning 10 out of 19 matches against Pakistan, while Pakistan has won six. Pakistan’s last Asia Cup victory over India came in 2022. India has lifted the Asia Cup trophy eight times, compared to Pakistan’s two titles.
