Asia Cup 2025: India Dominate Pakistan in High-Voltage Match

14 September, 2025 23:02

Dubai– India outclassed Pakistan by 7 wickets in the sixth match of the Asia Cup T20 2025 at the Dubai International Stadium.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Pakistan’s batting line-up collapsed and could only post 127 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. India comfortably chased down the target of 128, sealing the victory with ease.

Pakistan got off to a disastrous start when Saim Ayub was dismissed on the very first ball by Hardik Pandya. Soon after, Mohammad Haris fell for 3 runs against Jasprit Bumrah. Fakhar Zaman (17) and captain Salman Agha (3) also departed cheaply, both falling to Axar Patel.

The middle order continued to struggle as Hasan Nawaz (5), Mohammad Nawaz (0), and Faheem Ashraf (11) failed to settle. Sahibzada Farhan’s 40 off 44 balls was the only notable innings in the top order. At 111/9, Pakistan were staring at a collapse before Shaheen Afridi’s fighting knock of 33 not out off 16 balls, featuring four sixes, lifted them to a modest total.

For India, Kuldeep Yadav starred with 3 wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel took 2 each.

In reply, India chased down the 128-run target with confidence, securing victory by 7 wickets and underlining their dominance in Asia Cup history.

This was the second meeting between the arch-rivals in the past six months, following their clash in the Champions Trophy. India now lead the head-to-head record in Asia Cup encounters with 10 wins from 19 matches, while Pakistan have managed 6 victories. Pakistan’s last Asia Cup win against India came in 2022.

India, already eight-time Asia Cup champions, further strengthened their reputation as the tournament’s most successful team. Pakistan, in contrast, have lifted the trophy only twice.
