Gaza’s Internet, Phone Cut Amid Ground Offensive

19 September, 2025 14:37

The Israeli army’s brutal bombing of Gaza City is ongoing, with reports confirming that 50 more Palestinians have lost their lives. Dozens of buildings have been destroyed in the Sheikh Radwan and Tal Al-Hawa neighborhoods, as Israeli forces took full control of the eastern outskirts of Gaza City.

At the same time, Israeli ground troops have launched operations in the western parts of the city. Clashes with Hamas fighters have resulted in the deaths of four Israeli soldiers, including a major.

The humanitarian situation is growing worse by the day. Four more people in Gaza have died from hunger, bringing the total deaths from starvation to 435.

Since October 7, 2023, over 65,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, with more than 165,000 injured.

Following the intensified ground operations, internet and telephone services across Gaza have been completely cut off. A resident of Gaza City told Arab News that while he can still communicate through an eSIM, the loss of phone and internet means something very cruel is about to happen.

He described the situation as desperate, with many people trapped in tents and homes, unable or unwilling to leave their neighborhoods despite the worsening conditions.

The Palestinian telecom company confirmed that the main network line was targeted, causing a total blackout in communication.
