Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that loans and more loans are not the solution to climate change.

According to details, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while addressing the Climate Summit, said that he is speaking at a time when his people are badly affected by monsoon rains.

He said that in the 2022 floods, Pakistan suffered losses of more than 30 billion dollars.

He stated that Pakistan’s share in global carbon emissions is negligible, yet it is among the countries severely affected by climate change.

Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is taking practical steps to reduce greenhouse gases.

The Prime Minister said that alternative energy and green energy are being promoted, while focus is being given to hydropower, solar, and nuclear energy.

He further said that tree plantation is being carried out on a priority basis for environmental protection.
