White House Shares PM Shehbaz, Field Marshal Asim Munir Visit Photos
The White House has released photos of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir during their recent visit and meeting with US President Donald Trump. The images show the two Pakistani leaders interacting with President Trump and other officials, including US Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The meeting took place in the Oval Office on Friday and lasted about an hour and 20 minutes. In a group photo, President Trump can be seen giving his signature ‘thumbs up’ gesture.
During the visit, Prime Minister Sharif and Field Marshal Munir presented President Trump with a gift of precious minerals.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s House, the meeting occurred in a “cordial atmosphere,” during which Pakistan acknowledged President Trump’s efforts for peace and called him a “man of peace.”
Prime Minister Sharif invited American companies to invest in Pakistan’s agricultural, mineral, and energy sectors. The discussions also covered the regional situation and cooperation in counter-terrorism. Sharif expressed gratitude to President Trump for recognizing Pakistan’s role in eliminating terrorism.
Additionally, Prime Minister Sharif urged President Trump to help reduce tensions in the Middle East, particularly in Palestine, and to work toward a ceasefire.
