Lahore police have uncovered a new method of car theft following an incident on September 23 in Neelum Block, Iqbal Town.

CCTV footage captured the crime in action: a suspect on a motorcycle intentionally rammed the rear of a car. When the female driver exited to inspect the damage, the biker sped away while an accomplice swiftly approached the driver’s side, entered the vehicle, and locked the doors.

Despite the woman’s efforts to open the door and block the car’s path, the suspect threatened her with a pistol, struck her with the vehicle, and escaped.

Authorities launched a wide-scale operation involving more than 300 Safe City and local cameras across various districts to track down the criminals. Both suspects were arrested, and the stolen car was recovered.

Officials revealed that one of the accused, Farooq Rikaardi, is a repeat offender with at least five criminal cases registered against him at different police stations.
