Why Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban Split After 19 Years Together?

LOS ANGELES: Hollywood’s golden couple, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, have reportedly ended their marriage after 19 years together, according to multiple celebrity news outlets.

The pair, who married in 2006, have been living apart since early summer. TMZ first reported that Urban has moved out of their Nashville mansion and into a new home in Music City, while Kidman continues to reside in the family house.

Although the stars have not issued official statements, People magazine reported that Kidman was not in favor of ending the relationship and has been attempting to keep it intact privately. Representatives for both have yet to respond to requests for comment.

Kidman and Urban share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. Kidman is also mother to two adopted children, Isabella Jane and Connor Antony, from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.

Speculation about a separation intensified when the couple stopped appearing together in public. Kidman last acknowledged Urban in June with a throwback post on their anniversary, while Urban’s final public mention of her was in May at the Academy of Country Music Awards, where he received the ACM Triple Crown.

Both stars have been occupied with work in recent months. Kidman has completed filming the sequel to Practical Magic alongside Sandra Bullock, while Urban has been on tour since May, promoting his latest album High.

The couple first met at the G’Day USA gala in Los Angeles in 2005 and began dating soon after. Kidman once shared that on her 38th birthday, Urban arrived at her apartment at 5 a.m. with gardenias, a gesture that convinced her he was “the love of my life.”

They married in June 2006 in a candlelit ceremony at St Patrick’s Estate in Manly, Sydney, surrounded by family and friends. Kidman’s children with Cruise, Isabella and Connor, were part of the celebration, with Isabella serving in the bridal party.

The wedding, described by People magazine as a blend of “Cinderella-style fantasy,” Catholic tradition, and Australian warmth, featured Urban serenading his bride with Making Memories of Us. Guests received silver Tiffany & Co. desk clocks engraved with: “A Moment in Time, June 25, 2006, Nicole & Keith.”

Following the ceremony, the newlyweds honeymooned in French Polynesia, beginning what was once considered a fairytale romance.
