Pakistan Retaliates terror camps after Afghan forces open fire on border

12 October, 2025 00:43

Tensions have sharply increased at the Pakistan–Afghanistan border after Afghan forces reportedly opened unprovoked fire at multiple locations. The incident took place near Angoor Adda, Bajaur, Kurram, Dir, Chitral, and Baram Chah in Balochistan.

According to security sources, Afghan troops initiated the firing to provide cover for terrorist elements attempting to cross into Pakistani territory. Pakistani forces, already positioned at key posts, responded immediately with full force.

Eyewitness reports suggest that Pakistan used artillery, tanks, and heavy weaponry to target hostile positions across the border. Drones and air assets were also deployed to strike suspected hideouts of militants, including those linked to Khawarij and Daesh.

Several Afghan border posts were destroyed during the retaliation. Initial intelligence indicates heavy casualties, with dozens of Afghan soldiers and militants killed. Many Taliban personnel reportedly abandoned their positions and fled, leaving behind damaged posts and scattered equipment.

Security officials confirmed that Pakistan’s response was both “effective and severe.” They added that the army remains on high alert and continues to monitor the border for any further aggression.

This escalation has occurred at a sensitive time, coinciding with the Afghan Foreign Minister’s visit to India. Analysts say the incident could have wider regional implications, especially concerning border security and militant infiltration.

Bodies were seen lying in the conflict areas, highlighting the intensity of the battle. Military sources emphasized that Pakistan will not allow any terrorist movement and will act decisively against threats from across the border.
