AJK PM Anwar-ul-Haq Sets Conditions for Resignation
Muzaffarabad: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq has reportedly set conditions for his resignation as political tensions rise in the region.
According to sources, Anwar-ul-Haq has demanded guarantees for development funds and ongoing projects for his supporting ministers and assembly members before agreeing to step down.
He has also asked that PML-N ministers and ticket holders receive equal development funds ahead of the upcoming elections.
It is worth noting that both the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have agreed to bring a no-confidence motion against the AJK Prime Minister. Sources claim that the PPP already has the support of 36 assembly members for the motion.
Meanwhile, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq has not yet resigned, stating that if the opposition has enough numbers, they should move forward with the no-confidence vote.
The political situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir remains fluid, with both camps claiming majority support in the legislative assembly.
