Babar Azam Breaks World Record for Most Runs in T20 Internationals
Lahore – Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam has set a new world record by becoming the highest run-scorer in T20 International cricket, surpassing India’s Rohit Sharma.
Babar achieved this milestone during the second T20 match against South Africa at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. He crossed Rohit’s total of 4,231 runs after scoring his ninth run of the innings.
Pakistan put on a strong performance, defeating South Africa by nine wickets to level the three-match series 1-1.
Chasing a small target of 111 runs, Pakistan reached the goal easily in the 14th over. Saim Ayub led the way with an unbeaten 71 runs, while Babar Azam remained not out on 11.
Earlier, Pakistan’s bowlers dominated the game, bowling South Africa out for 110 runs in 19.2 overs. Salman Mirza struck early to remove top-order batters, and Faheem Ashraf finished the job with disciplined bowling.
This victory and record mark another proud moment for Pakistan cricket and for Babar Azam’s remarkable career.
