OGRA Clarifies No Change in Gas Prices After Conflicting Reports

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) statements about average gas prices for the current fiscal year have been discrepancies.

The OGRA spokesman stated in his statement that a 3% reduction in the average gas price for Sui Northern and an 8% reduction in the gas price for Sui Southern have been proposed.

The OGRA spokesperson said that after the reduction, the gas price for Sui Northern has been proposed at Rs 1,804.8 per MMBTU, and the average gas price for Sui Southern has been proposed at Rs 1,549.41 per MMBTU.

In addition, OGRA will issue a notification on gas prices after receiving advice from the federal government.

Later, news emerged that the gas price for Sui Northern was increased to Rs 1,852.80 per MMBTU, while the gas price for Sui Southern was approved to be increased to Rs 1,777.2 per MMBTU.

Now the news has come out that the OGRA spokesperson has said that a wrong impression was given regarding the determination of gas prices, no change in gas prices has been approved, and gas prices remain at the old rates.
