200-unit electricity rates in 2026 for protected and non-protected users
ISLAMABAD: Electricity consumers across Pakistan will not face higher power prices in 2026, as the government has decided to keep the base electricity tariff unchanged for the year.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved this decision, and the same electricity rates will remain effective from January 1, 2026. The policy applies to both protected and non-protected consumers, including users of government-owned distribution companies and K-Electric.
Earlier, NEPRA had approved separate tariffs for Discos and K-Electric for 2026. However, under the new decision, electricity prices will stay the same for all consumers, providing relief to households.
For protected consumers, the electricity rate for using 1 to 100 units is Rs10.54 per unit. Those using up to 200 units will pay Rs13.01 per unit.
For non-protected consumers, the rate for 1 to 100 units is Rs22.44 per unit, while those using 101 to 200 units will be charged Rs28.91 per unit.
Consumers using 201 to 300 units will pay Rs33.10 per unit. The rate increases to Rs37.99 per unit for 301 to 400 units. Those consuming 401 to 500 units will be charged Rs40.22 per unit, while users of 501 to 600 units will pay Rs41.62 per unit.
For electricity usage between 601 and 700 units, the rate is Rs42.76 per unit. Consumers using more than 700 units will continue to pay Rs47.69 per unit.
Meanwhile, lifeline consumers will continue to receive special relief. Households using up to 50 units per month will pay Rs3.95 per unit, while those using 51 to 100 units will be charged Rs7.74 per unit.
The government says this decision aims to provide stability and relief to electricity consumers during 2026.
