Iran seizes two fuel-smuggling vessels in Persian Gulf
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said on Thursday that its navy seized two vessels carrying smuggled fuel near Farsi Island in the Persian Gulf.
Authorities said that more than one million liters of smuggled fuel were found on board the two vessels. The ships were reportedly part of a coordinated smuggling network that had been operating in the area for several months.
During the operation, 15 foreign crew members were detained. They were later handed over to judicial authorities for legal action.
Officials explained that the vessels were identified after intelligence monitoring, surveillance, and operational tracking. IRGC naval forces then intercepted the ships and successfully stopped the illegal activity.
