King Charles and Queen Camilla Host Nigerian President

King Charles and Queen Camilla will welcome Nigeria’s president, first state visit to the UK in 37 years, announced by Buckingham Palace.

At Windsor Castle, west of London Charles and Queen Camilla, will be welcomed The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The meeting signifies an important tactful milestone, as is the first time for the state of Nigerian to bestowed a full state call to the United Kingdom in 37 years. As the statement released on Saturday that, the royals confirmed that the King Charles will greet the Nigeria for a State Visit in March.

“The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accompanied by the First Lady, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, has accepted an invitation from His Majesty, The King to pay a State Visit to the United Kingdom from Wednesday, 18th March to Thursday, 19th March 2026. The King and Queen will host the State Visit at Windsor Castle,”

The Palace said, full details of the event will be announced in due course.

In 2025 between July and December, Charles and Queen Camilla greeted three foreign leaders for state visits, welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron, US President Donald Trump and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier

State visits are well-known for their official magnificence, with royal tiaras founding a notable tradition at such events.
