Bijou Phillips Divorce from Danny Masterson: What Really Happened

Bijou Phillips, known for her work in music and film, has largely stayed away from the public eye for over a decade, focusing on her health and family. She began her career as a singer, releasing her debut album I’d Rather Eat Glass in 1999, featuring 12 tracks that reflected her transition from modeling to music. In the same year, Bijou made her acting debut with the films Sugar Town and Black and White. She later appeared in movies like Almost Famous, Fast Sofa, Octane, The Door in the Floor, Hostel: Part II, Made for Each Other, and Wake, as well as TV shows including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Hawaii Five-0, and Raising Hope.

Danny Masterson, who began his career in commercials at the age of 12, also entered television with Jake and the Fatman in 1988 and made his film debut in Beethoven’s 2nd. He gained widespread recognition playing ‘Steven Hyde’ in That ‘70s Show (1998–2006) and later starred in shows such as Men at Work and The Ranch. Danny has also worked as a producer on projects including The Brooklyn Heist (2008), Men at Work (2014), and The Ranch (2016–2018), and appeared in music videos for artists like Cheap Trick, Len, and Eduardo Fresco.

Bijou and Danny first met at a celebrity poker game in 2004 and eventually married in 2011. The couple welcomed their daughter, Fianna Francis, in February 2014. However, Danny’s legal issues, including a conviction on sexual assault charges in September 2023, led Bijou to file for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. “Bijou’s daughter is her only priority after filing for divorce,” said her attorney Lauzon Paluch, adding that “Danny’s legal issues have brought a tough phase for the entire family, and despite these problems, Danny has ensured to be present for Bijou during her difficult times.” Lauzon also noted that Bijou has “always praised the fact that Danny has been a wonderful father.” In October 2025, reports confirmed that the couple is now legally single.
