Does Savannah Guthrie Think Mother, Nancy Is Dead Amid USD 1 Million Offer? as Search Enters Day 24

25 February, 2026 10:26

February 24, 2026 — The search for Nancy Guthrie entered its 24th day on Tuesday with no major breakthrough. Nancy, 84, is the mother of Savannah Guthrie, co-anchor of the Today show. She disappeared from her home in Tucson, Arizona, on February 1, 2026.

Police say the elderly woman was taken from her house during the night. The case is being handled by local authorities and the FBI. Investigators are treating it as a possible kidnapping.

Savannah Guthrie Shares Emotional Message

On February 24, Savannah posted an emotional video on Instagram. She spoke about the pain her family has faced since her mother went missing. She said every day has been filled with fear and uncertainty.

Savannah also admitted that she is preparing herself for the worst. She said her mother may have “already gone home to the Lord.” Her words showed deep sorrow but also faith.

The TV host had earlier announced a $1 million reward for information leading to her mother’s recovery. The reward was meant to encourage anyone with details to come forward.

Health Concerns Raise Serious Fears

Nancy Guthrie has limited mobility. She also needs daily medication for a heart condition. Officials had earlier warned that missing her medicine for more than 24 hours could be life-threatening.

Authorities revealed that her pacemaker lost connection with her Apple devices at 2:28 a.m. on the night she disappeared. Since then, there has been no confirmed contact or proof that she is alive.

The lack of proof of life has increased concerns. Family members have publicly asked anyone involved to provide evidence that Nancy is safe.

Former FBI Official Questions Kidnapping Theory

Former FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker shared his views during a recent interview. He questioned whether the case is truly a kidnapping.

He pointed out that no clear proof of life has been given. He also mentioned reports of ransom demands that reportedly increased from $1 million to $6 million.

Swecker said that if it were a real kidnapping, showing proof of life would be simple. He suggested investigators must consider other possibilities as well.

Family Cleared as Investigation Continues

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed that Nancy’s family members are not suspects. Authorities have officially cleared Savannah and her siblings.

The FBI has released footage of a person of interest. However, no arrests have been made so far. Investigators say the case remains active and ongoing.

As the days pass, the Guthrie family continues to wait for answers. Officials are urging anyone with information to contact law enforcement immediately.
