Tehran Calls India’s Growing Ties With Israel “Regrettable”

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has described India’s strengthening ties with Israel as “extremely regrettable.” In a recent statement, Araqchi asserted that Tehran does not consider maintaining relations with a “genocidal regime” to be appropriate.

The Foreign Minister highlighted the devastation in Gaza, stating that Israel has destroyed the entire Strip and reporting that 75,000 people have been martyred. He expressed hope that Prime Minister Modi would use his influence to raise his voice for the Palestinian right to self-determination.

Meanwhile, reports from Al Jazeera suggest that India is increasingly adopting an “Israeli model” regarding its security policies and its approach toward Muslim populations, noting that New Delhi appears to be importing elements of Israel’s administrative and military strategies.
