Vladimir Putin Advises Donald Trump to End Iran War

Russian President Vladimir Putin has advised his American counterpart to bring an end to the war with Iran.

The two leaders held a telephone conversation during which President Putin offered suggestions for an early conclusion to the conflict. According to Yuri Ushakov, the Russian presidential aide for foreign policy, the discussion also covered the conflict in Ukraine, the situation in Venezuela, and the state of the global oil market.

President Putin has previously stated that the war against Iran, led by the U.S. and Israel, has triggered a global energy crisis.

Separately, the Russian President sent a congratulatory message yesterday to Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. In his message, Putin wrote, “At a time when Iran is facing aggression, your responsibilities in this high position will certainly require courage and dedication.”

He added, “I am confident that you will continue your father’s work with dignity and keep the Iranian nation united during these difficult trials.”
