Iran Sets Three Conditions for Ceasefire With Israel, US
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has set three conditions for a ceasefire with Israel and the United States.
In a statement released on social media, President Pezeshkian asserted that for a ceasefire to occur, Iran’s constitutional rights must be recognized, compensation for war-related losses must be provided, and global powers must issue guarantees against future aggression toward Iran. The President also noted that he had reiterated Iran’s commitment to regional peace during recent discussions with the Russian President and the Pakistani Prime Minister.
Conversely, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a stern warning, stating that if Iranian ports are targeted, the ports of regional countries will also face strikes. The IRGC emphasized that no country will be able to insulate itself from this crisis, declaring, “We do not trust the enemy; we will not stop until we achieve victory.” The Revolutionary Guards further warned that their attacks will continue, calling this a “bad development” for their adversaries.
Meanwhile, Pentagon officials speaking to an American newspaper cautioned that deploying warships into the Strait of Hormuz under current conditions is extremely dangerous.
